The Sound of The Bell, Not Ringing

I have not seen the Liberty Bell.

Nor have I heard it;

You also have not heard it.

Yet I listen, soul yearning for the clear tone of Freedom,

And its silent promise of Unity,

Knowing both are hidden in its potent, latent vibrations.

But I realize the crack will always remain,

Reminding us of what could have been,

And still what could be.

America, my Country, take heed,

Polish the bell in your mind and you will see,

The crack reflected is in We.

Beautiful bell that yearns to release its tone,

Forever to bear that scar, reminding us,

We can mend the crack in our human hearts.
